Kristin Smyre
Intern – Supervised by Ilse Sucely de Leon MABC, LCMHC-NC/QS, LPC-TX
Kristin is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling master’s student at Catawba College completing her practicum and internship. She believes that therapy is built on creating a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and accepted. Her counseling approach is rooted in person-centered therapy, while also incorporating cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused techniques to help clients recognize their strengths, gain insight, and work toward meaningful change.
Kristin has a special interest in working with teens and young adults, particularly those navigating trauma, life transitions, identity development, anxiety, stress, and relationship challenges. She welcomes the opportunity to support clients from all walks of life as they work through challenges, develop greater self-awareness, and move toward personal growth.
Outside of counseling, Kristin enjoys learning about different cultures, spending time outdoors, visiting the beach, and staying connected to creativity and movement through dance.
Self pay: $25.00 cash/check, $30.00 card
