Counseling Intern

Life is complicated enough, but navigating it alone is even more difficult. Leann spent her early life and latter parts of her young adult life working through traumas and difficulties of her own. Through her counseling journey and experiences, she learned that even counselors have traumas and stories they deal with simply because of one commonality: we are human. Leann earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology through Liberty University and is pursuing her master’s in clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty. Leann has worked directly with autistic children in a clinic as a practicing RBT, part of her clinical experience. Leann specializes in anxiety, family systems, and trauma, with a focus on childhood trauma. Leann loves working with all ages but is passionate about teens and young adults. Leann appreciates and utilizes the therapeutic approaches of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. She approaches therapy with the knowledge and understanding that each person’s story and life experience is unique, and each counseling experience is tailored to each person. Leann believes that approaching counseling holistically is key to complete healing. Leann hopes to provide a safe, welcoming, and healing space where clients can come with their deepest wounds and traumas and heal from them holistically.
